It is very important to make sure you take good care of your body, mind, and soul every day, not just when you’re not feeling well. Self-care is the act of taking care of the body and mind so that our soul has the healthy abode needed to fully present in a well-lived life.
Most people struggle to practice self-care discipline. We all know that practicing self-care isn’t always easy. Beyond the lack of time, having a stressful job, or are too consumed with technology to make time for ourselves. You might sometimes feel guilty for taking the time required to take care of yourself.
You really want a solid daily routine but you are not good at sticking to one. You probably know how important it is for your well-being, but finding the time for a daily self-care routine is a different matter. You crave structure in your day that gives you some quality time for yourself - scheduling in time alone, for exercise, and for fun. Me-time is usually last on the agenda.
You’ve got to know yourself better and know what is needed—not just to function, but to flourish. Self-care isn’t just a one-time deal. It’s the constant repetition of many tiny habits, which together soothe you and make sure you’re at your optimum—emotionally, physically, and mentally.
The best way to do this is to implement tiny self-care habits every day. To regularly include in your life a little bit of love and attention for your own body, mind, and soul. Our health and overall well-being are not a one-sided thing. Our physical, mental, and spiritual health are deeply connected and work together to create harmony or discontent in our lives.
These elements can strongly affect each other. When your body is unhealthy, your mind might suffer. If you’re not fueling your soul, you might have trouble finding the physical energy to do anything. Therefore, we must create a daily routine that helps take care of these different elements of our lives. We can practice self-care in a simple and easy way when we make time for my mind, body, and soul on a daily basis.
Mind, body, and soul self-care should be ingrained in our daily lives because I believe that it will change the way we view self-care and wellness. Not only doing the things we enjoy doing but also feel a lot better.
For the mind, meditation is the best tool for keeping calm. Reading and journaling also helped to start the day from a positive perspective. You can also jot down the great things people say about you to read later.
For the body, walking is the best. You will gladly do it every day because it gets the body moving and can quiet the mind at the same time. After walking, be still. Sit somewhere surrounded by greenery and be quiet for a few minutes.
For the soul, this is where it gets a little ambiguous. But you can start your day on the right foot when you feel inspired or when you had a good laugh. That means sometimes read couples of comic strips that you enjoy, listen to podcasts, watch YouTube videos, or squeeze in an episode of a show on Netflix.
You can try to follow the flow:
- Meditate, journal or document (5-10 mins)
- Walk and Relax (20-30 mins)
- Shower & eat breakfast (10 mins)
- Get ready while listening to a podcast or watching videos or read comic books during day off (30 mins)
Incorporating a few of these tiny self-care ideas in your day will help keep you in tune. The more you can work self-care time into your schedule, the better you’ll be able to grow, enjoy your life, and thrive. Don’t give up and remember that making self-care a priority in your daily life is the most important thing that you can do for yourself.
