Starting a Healthy Lifestyle as a Parent
Being a parent is hard. Focusing on health & fitness can seem like a low priority when your main focus is your kids...your spouse...your job...your household. Trying to take time for yourself is something that can easily get pushed to the back burner.
But it doesn't have to be that way!
Making small changes is a great first step to being a fit, healthy parent. A great first step is to focus on drinking more water. Less juice, less soda, less "sports drink"...more water. An average goal is 60 ounces a day. (Nutritional guidelines suggest you drink half your weight (in pounds) in ounces of water each day. You weigh 150 lbs. = aim for 75 oz. per day)
You are allowed to take the time a focus on you! Whether you are striving for an all-around healthier lifestyle or just trying to get rid of a few bad habits, my advice is to start small. Take a small step. It's easier to take another step if you've still got your balance!
