Superfood 101: Camu Camu
What is Camu Camu?
Camu camu is a rare antioxidant-rich plant found throughout the Amazon rain forests of Peru and Brazil. It produces reddish orange-colored berries the size of red cherries which were traditionally used by indigenous Amazonian people to provide immune system support and reduce inflammation.
This fruit is packed with more natural vitamin C than any other food source recorded on the planet, in addition to beta-carotene, potassium, calcium, iron, niacin, phosphorus, protein, serine, thiamin, leucine, and valine. These powerful phytochemicals and amino acids have a range of therapeutic effects.
Our high purity powder is dried at low temperatures and carefully milled into fine powder. This process retains the high nutritional value of the fruit and allows for maximum digestion and absorption when consumed.
